Matt Ellis, a cerebral palsy sufferer originally from Thetford has this week been left disappointed due to a torn Achilles tendon injury sustained at the BT paralympic World Cup. The injury has certainly come as a blow to both the British team and Ellis himself.

Exercise is an important aspect of life and is beneficial for every single one of us. We all have cardiovascular systems, we all need muscle resistance for growth, our bones need resistance to grow and produce minerals, ligaments and tendons need exercise for flexibility and strength and there are many other universal factors, regardless of a person’s ability, that we have in common.

A new phrase has struck a different cord in me lately if you don’t exercise your body will turn rancid. Exaggeration? Not as much as you might think. Much is known now about why there is a steady deterioration in tissue health if we don’t exercise. Sports and exercise are compatible.
